🔭[Celestron NextStar Hand Controller Settings and Calibration] Quick Start Notes

Keep the tripod level

Turn on the power --> Turn on the computer --> Press Enter to start calibration --> Press the up and down keys in the lower right corner to select the calibration mode --> Select [Solar System Object Calibration]

-->If the [Enter time] option appears at this time, please press the Back key first, and the [User-defined coordinates] option will appear, then enter the latitude and precision coordinates of your location one after another, and then enter the time zone (Taiwan) is the East Eighth District) and the accurate time and date, and then it will begin to enter the selection calibration mode.

Remark:

"Select East 8th District for Taiwan time zone, standard time"

"Be sure to re-enter the time and date every time you operate

If the coordinate input is not displayed, it means that it has been entered before. "You can press the Back key where you enter the time to enter the menu for re-entering custom coordinates. You can use the compass function of your phone to view the precise coordinates of your location."

Commonly used calibration modes:

Calibration of solar system objects: Select the name of a solar system object (for example: the moon) from the menu on the hand controller. After selecting, operate the up, down, left and right keys on the hand controller to electronically control the pointing of the telescope until the finder or the red dot is aimed at the center of the moon. Press Press the Enter key, and then operate the up, down, left, and right keys on the hand controller. At this time, the telescope pointer will move slowly until the center of the moon moves to the center of the eyepiece field of view. At this time, press the Align calibration key. The hand control will display Calibration Complete.

Automatic two-star calibration: Select a celestial body name ( for example: Vega ) from the menu on the hand controller . After selecting, operate the up, down, left and right keys on the hand controller to electronically control the pointing of the telescope until the red dot of the finder is aimed at Vega. Press Enter the confirmation key, and then operate the up, down, left and right keys of the hand controller. At this time, the telescope pointing will move slowly until the Weaver Girl moves to the center of the eyepiece field of view. At this time, press the Align calibration key. Then the hand controller will automatically display the next celestial body to be calibrated ( for example : Deneb ) . Press the Enter key to confirm. The motor will start to rotate and the telescope will move towards Deneb. After it stops stabilizing, operate the up, down, left and right keys to aim for stars. After reaching Deneb, press the Enter key, and then press the up, down, left, and right keys. Use the eyepiece to aim Deneb to the center of the eyepiece and press the Align calibration button. The hand controller will display that the calibration is completed.
